Lemurs Walk Off Winners
Laredo, TX – Palmer Karr Jr. blasted a solo homerun in the bottom of the 11th to lead the Laredo Lemurs (39-41) to an 8-7 win over the Grand Prairie Airhogs (44-37) Sunday night at Uni-Trade Stadium.
The Lemurs made it a game of comebacks as they feel behind 4-0 to the Airhogs after two innings. The Lemurs in the bottom of the third, put together four base hits, with the big one coming off the bat of Brian Peterson who hit a three run homerun to tie the game at four a piece.
The Airhogs would retake the lead in the top of the fourth when with a solo homerun by Jairo Perez. The Lemrus would tie it at five with a run of their own in the sixth.
The Airhogs, once again, would retake the lead with Jairo Perez hitting a two run homerun in the eighth to put them up 7-5. Perez ended the night going three for four, with a single, two homeruns, and five RBI’s.
With the Airhogs up once again Brian Peterson singled with one out to get things going in the bottom of the eighth. Peterson’s single would be followed by a Stephen Pearson opposite field homerun to tie the game again, this time at seven.
The win puts the Lemurs four and a half games behind the Grand Prairie Airhogs and gives them their fourth win in a row.
The Laredo Lemurs will now take off for a six game road trip that will take them to Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Kansas City, Kansas.
