Leandro Casto was named American Association Pointstreak Player of the week. Castro batted .459 with 3 home runs and 8 RBI against Joplin and Texas.
Castro was the hero on Friday night capping off a 6-run 9th inning comeback win against Texas with a two-run single to left to give the Lemurs a 9-8 win. After the game Castro said “I thought he had hit a home run when it left the bat and was surprised it hit the wall.”
During Sunday nights 12-0 win over Texas, Castro led of the game with a solo home run and ended up going 5-6 in the game.
In 13 games since being activated off the disabled list, Castro is hitting .387 AVG with 3 home runs and 9 RBI on the season.
