The Lemurs dropped the second game of the four game series with Fargo-Morehead RedHawks 2-1. The Lemurs got on the scoreboard in the first inning on a Ty Morrison RBI single and they wouldn’t score again the rest of the night. The Lemurs didn’t have a base runner in the 7th, 8th, and 9th inning.
Scott Garner returned to the hill from injury to pitch 6 solid innings only allowing one run and struck out four hitters. Whenever Garner need to make a big pitch he did, he induced two double plays when he was in a jam and got a crucial strikeout in when he needed to, to end the first inning.
For the RedHawks the star of the night was Richie Mirowski, who pitched a marvelous seven innings, with ten strikeouts, only allowing five hits and one run. The RedHawks took the lead in the 8th inning on a Josh Mazzola RBI single to center giving them a 2-1 advantage and they held on. Travis Ballew got his first save of the season in the 9th.
