The Laredo Lemurs dropped the second game of the 3-game series with the Wichita Wingnuts 4-3 in this battle of the top two teams in the south division.
The Lemurs (17-14) got off to an early 3-0 lead in the 3rd inning when J.D Pulfer delivered a two out, two-run single with the bases loaded. Alvaro Rondon followed Pulfer with an RBI single to give the Lemurs a 3-0 lead and thats all the runs Laredo could muster. The Lemurs had the bases loaded in the first and second innings but couldn’t get any runs across the plate.
Wingnuts (18-13) took the lead in the 5th inning when they plated 3 runs all with two-outs and they were all on singles. Dustin Geiger, Richard Prigatano, and Harrison Kain had back-back-back the RBI singles to give Wichita a lead they never gave back.
Alex Boshers pitched 6 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 runs which were unearned and the Wingnuts bullpen pitched 3 shut out innings and for the second consecutive night Frankie Reed got the save. For the Lemurs, started Danny Moskovits pitched 4.2 innings allowing 7 hits, 4 runs and striking out 3.
The Laredo bullpen just like Wichita didn’t allow a run. Harold Guerrero, Jose Nivar, Kamakani Usui, and Troy Marks all pitched shutout innings.
