The heroics from Friday night weren’t need on Saturday night as the Lemurs cruised to a 9-1 win over the AirHogs, extending their winning streak to five games. Troy Marks led the way on the mound, pitching 6 innings allowing one run, three hits, and striking out eight batters. This was Marks first start since June 13th against Lincoln when he pitched 5.2 innings and got the loss. He was pitching out of the bullpen in his previous seven appearances.
Offensively, Jesus “Panda” Posso led the way with four RBIs. He started off the night with a two-out, RBI double to right center to give the Lemurs a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning. He capped off the Lemurs scoring with a three-run home run in the 8th inning, his 5th of the season and now has driven in 23 runs on the season.
In-between the “Panda’s” offense, the AirHogs tied it up on a single by Cody Lenahan but that proved it wasn’t enough of the Hogs tonight. The Lemurs added two runs in the 5th on a bases loaded hit by pitch and a Denis Phipps fielders choice making it 3-1. Lemurs added three more runs in the 5th inning on a bases loaded wild pitch, Alvaro Rondon single, and a RBI groundout by Leandro Castro.
Jose Nivar worked two innings out of the bullpen striking out two and allowing one run. Luis De La Cruz came in and finished off the game pitching a scoreless 9th after allowing two walks.
